Today, Skyler and I are going to our first Play Date. I don't know if it will at our house, or theirs yet.. but it's no big deal, they live literally across from us.
He's nearly two and this is our first one.. Am I a little behind? Perhaps I am.. I am just picky who I let my son around and who I want to be around.. That's not so bad is it?
On another note.. My son is turning two in MARCH.. That's so soon! To Soon. I know the theme I want.. but no one in town has good birthday supplies to match it.. It gets me thinking I may have to make them myself.. Which, isn't so bad.. But when do you have the time? I suppose I would have to start soon If I wanted enough things for the party to look really nice. And I guess I could just get cups and stuff that match the colors of the theme.
However, I was thinking I would NOT use disposable cups and plates (trying to be a little more green), but I can't imagine myself missing out on my boy's birthday by washing dishes! It's a bit of a battle for me, be green and help our environment a little more or.. Watch my son have fun at this great milestone in his life? Uuug. Normally I would say "My Son, of course!", but the environment thing still nags at me..
If anyone out there is reading my blog, tell me.. What do you do at your child's birthday?
Depends how green you can afford. You could buy any children attending steel cups, put them in grab bags and let them open them up right away. Older guests could use regular glasses. Or use paper, which can be recycled. And any dishes can wait until the party is over.
